A Reflection on Being Unapologetically You.....

They liked my peace, but questioned the practices that created it.

They admired my softness, but to bypassed the seasons it took to grow.

They loved the light, but called the fire strange.

They wanted the fruit, without acknowledging the root.

But my roots run deep.

My individuality, authenticity and the way I love the world was cultivated by everything beneath the surface.

Some asked me to change, tone it down a bit, and to not be "too much". And over time,

I did, not realizing how detrimental it was to silence parts of myself that made me, well.. me. I later learned that sometimes being completely comfortable in your own skin can make others a little uncomfortable in theirs. And not intentionally; but your authentic light can have a way of illuminating parts others are still learning to embrace within themselves.

And maybe you've dealt with this too.

Dimmed your light to be accepted,

Hidden your practices, your journey.

Downplayed your greatness

Or watered down your truth to avoid judgement.

Remember......

Your roots run deep.

Everything that was buried in darkness, in your stillness, in your isolation, in your silence....are all the things that grew into the uniqueness that makes you who you are today.

You don't have to rebrand yourself to make others comfortable.

You don't have to shrink into a container they never had the capacity to hold.

You were never meant to revolve around anyone else world, but rather be the brightest star in yours.

Your roots created the garden of your life, and you don't owe anyone an explanation for the soil that helped you bloom.

Continue to be beautifully you, like a wildflower, staying rooted in who you are, flourishing free in the things you love, and forever growing more into who you want to be each day.
